Thurisaz is the thorny gate that presents some sort of unpleasant challenge. It is also the rune connected with the god Thor. In Norse lore, the giants often meddled in the realm of Midgard, causing all sorts of trouble for human. It was up to Thor to intercede and defend humans from the giants. I took the liberty of telling the story from the viewpoint of a human who discovered her strength was equal to that of the giants (Kari, Loge, Ran, and Ymir) when properly provoked...
