about

In the Mists of Avalon prequel trilogy, young priestesses are taught about the Seven Holy Isles of the British lands: The Isle of Glass (The Tor), the Isle of Brigantia (the low but great land of the Goddess), The Isle of Wings (home of the winged god and the fen folk), the Isle of the Marches (defenders of the Vale of Avalon), the Isle of the Oak (where the sacred spring and oak of the druids lie), the Isle of Pan (home of the wild god of the hills), and The Watch Hill (the gateway to Avalon). The themes for each are woven together by harp, cello, flute, drums, English horn, violin, and bells in magical pairing of 7/8 time with sets of nine measures for each theme.
